Fence is in! It is great to be able to let Nala out to just sunbath without having to worry about her seeing the neighbors cat or kids and wanting to go play.

My Sister Would be Proud!
Lisa you would be proud...Kyle and I have finally gotten around to hanging some pictures on the wall. Over Labor Day weekend my mom and I went to Home Goods in Wilmington and found some awesome prints that were reasonably priced. We also finally painted the office and hung some pictures we had taken on the wall.
Mirror in dining room. (thanks Laura M. for the awesome bday present)
office (kind of a light sea green color with white furniture)
pic from home goods in the master bedroom
hallway (pic from home goods and decorations from target)
pictures that we took in Bermuda and Charleston (halloween decorations from my mom)

Painting Continues
On Saturday my parents came to town to help Kyle and I paint the dining room and living room/kitchen. We painted for most of the day on Saturday and then Kyle and I finished on Sunday at 3pm. We only have one more room to go and we'll be satisfied with the paint colors for at least a few months.
In the dining room we decided to go with mochaccino, a nice brown color and a red stripe for an accent. Kyle's aunt got us a Bed Bath and Beyond gift card and we found these 2 awesome win prints that matched perfectly. Here is the room all put together.

In the kitchen and living room we decided to extend the tan color. Which by the way is a great color for me because when I got the paint on my skin it matched. This room was a lot of trim....glad it is done.

House Update
Last weekend was busy... On Friday we finally had time to plant the flowers that Kyle's mom gave us and some we bought. On Saturday Jason came over and helped us paint the living room. Kyle's sister picked out the paint and we love it. I never thought I would have the courage to paint the walls brown, but it looks awesome. Instead of putting in a chair rail we painted a dark brown stripe in the middle. Kyle is out of town for a week starting Thursday, so I am sure this weekend will be a little less productive.
Our welcome back to school event is on Sunday and then starts the craziness of students on campus. For the next few weeks it will be crazy at work. I am counting down the days until Labor Day when we get a three day weekend.

Finally Getting Settled
We closed on our house Friday, July 10 and are finally starting to feel settled. After yard work and cleaning the house yesterday we had time for the first time to sit down and watch a movie. So far the house and neighborhood are great. Our neighbors had a Wing Fest Party on Saturday night and introduced us to 5-10 couples that live on the street. No one is actually from North Carolina that lives there, majority are from New York. Most families have dogs, so Nala is excited to meet lots of new friends. I finally took some pics of the house yesterday, so here they are as requested.

Congratulations Pat and Molly!
Yesterday we drove to Jonesville, NC for Pat and Molly's wedding. (Pat was my graduate assistant last year.) The wedding was at Laurel Gray Winery, about 2 hours from Raleigh. The weather was perfect except the grass was a little wet. My toes were muddy by the end of the night. We had a great time. I learned that I want to have a very small only close family wedding. Maybe a destination wedding :)
