January Contest

The January scrapbook contest on sugardumplin.com is to design a page about your scrapbook room.  This was an interesting page for me because not only do I not have a room I have stuff everywhere.  I have a container under my desk, embellishments in the closet, and I scrapbook on the kitchen table.  I decided to show how little space I have by taking a picture of the locations of supplies.  One day I'll have a scrapbook room!

Big Snow Storm 2008

The local weather forecast predicted the Triangle would get anywhere between 2-4 inches of snow yesterday.  Of course when they predict we are going to get snow, salt all the roads, and cancel activities in the area we don't get any!  Our big snow storm turned into a light dusting. I think we got a 1/2 inch, but it was starting to melt today. It was still fun to see it while it lasted.  It was too wet to go out yesterday so here are some pictures from today.  We took Nala out to play fetch this morning and she loved the cold weather and eating the snow!  But she'll eat anything so that didn't surprise me.

New Years Scrapbook Page

I finally had time to do scrapbook one page today!  I chose an easy one :)  I used chipboard letters and used red and black ink to add color.  I got the paper and embellishments from Archivers today.

First Card Design

I went to the scrapbook store today and bought supplies to make cards.  I got Birthday and Valentine's stamps and cards/envelopes.  This is my first card design.  A practice card that I am going to give to my Grandfather.  I have a lot of birthdays coming up at the end of January and beginning of February so it is good practice.

Winter is here

It's freezing outside!  Really the past three mornings the temperature has been below 20 degrees.  Of course I hate cold weather, but it has been interesting watching Nala during her first January.

When we go outside she is perfectly fine and warm, but when we are in the house she acts like she is freezing.  You can see from the picture of Nala in the bed that she is a big baby! The second picture is one from our walk around Lake Johnson yesterday

HAPPY NEW YEARS

This year we went out with three other couples to a sushi restaurant in Durham.  We ordered 22 rolls and all shared.  My favorites were the volcano roll and the sweet dragon roll.  I really like anything with eel right now, it's very sweet.  We stayed at the restaurant until about 11:30pm and then went to Muffy's apartment to watch the ball drop.  It was a great way to start 2008!

NC State vs. Davidson Basketball Game

On Friday, December 21 my parents came to Raleigh for the NC State vs. Davidson basketball game.  My dad and kyle sat in the floor seats and my mom and I sat at half court.  Here is a picture that I took of my dad and kyle from my seat.  NC State won by 2!
