Gary and Jen's Wedding Invitation

Kyle's cousin/best friend, Gary, is getting married in May and is the invitation he and Jen sent out. I absolutely love them. They are getting married in Bermuda and I think the ticket to paradise theme is great for a destination wedding. The invitation is made to look like two plane tickets. I just thought I would share this cool design. Congratulations Gary and Jen.

Happy Easter

Today is beautiful, 70 degrees and sunny!  We took Nala for her normal Saturday morning playtime at a local elementary school and once again brought the camera.  I got off work at 4pm yesterday and stopped by JoAnn's and picked up a flower headband for Nala.  We brought the headband out this morning and took some pictures.  Nala didn't really like the headband, but she will do anything for a treat.  She was very patient while we took tons of pictures.  How cute is the pup as a pink flower.

Nala's Dog Family

At the beginning of April I will be proud puppy owner for one year. I was thinking about how small she was when we got her and decided to see if I could post the pictures of her mom and dad. The pictures are very small so they may not be the best quality.
The picture above the text is of Nala's mom, Duchess, with her puppies. The two pictures below are of Nala's dad, Duke, and a picture of Nala and her sisters. I think that Nala is the puppy kissing her sister in the face. Nala loves to give kisses to people and other dogs. My mom loves to get kisses from Nala!
When we went to look at the puppies there were three females left. Two immediately came and started playing with us and one stayed and slept. Of the two that came out to play one was crazy, she ran all around the yard getting in to everything. There was a booggie board sitting against the tree and she grabbed the leash and pulled the board all over the yard. Of course we thought she was cute, so we picked her up and she just laid in our arms and let us hold her like a baby. We couldn't resist, we had to take her home! On the way home Nala laid in Kyle's lap and slept the entire way. I will post the pictures of her first day at home tomorrow.

Nala's First Birthday Scrapbook Page

We dropped Nala off at the vet this morning at 8am.  She has been vomiting and having diarrhea since Thursday night.  She got sick this morning again and then wouldn't eat. When she wouldn't eat we knew something was wrong.  If you know Nala you know exactly what I am talking about.  She will eat everything, even goose poop!  Well a few hundred dollars later we just got a phone call that they can't find anything and they are going to put her on antibiotics for a bacterial infection.  Most likely from something she ate.

On Saturday mornings we usually take Nala somewhere in the mornings to wear her out.  Without her here it was weird.  So I decided to finally do her first birthday scrapbook page.  This one was hard to take a picture of because the colors are not that bright.

Spring Break, but not for me....

You may be asking why I am posting so much this week. Well, it is spring break for our students but we still have to work. It is so quiet in the office it is hard to concentrate and work. Yes, I know it should be easier to work but I am used to students walking in and out of my office all day long. So as I sit here and think of everything I'd rather be doing other than working I decided to post.

Dogs Love Dirt

Nala loves to be dirty! Every time we go for a walk she finds something to roll in. Kyle went to Lake Raleigh yesterday and tried to stay as far away for the lake as possible, but of course Nala found the only random mud puddle in the middle of the woods. I say random because we are in a severe drought, where are these random mud puddles coming from? These are two pictures that we took a few weeks ago. The first picture is super happy Nala all muddy. The second picture is of Nala after we have to go back to the clean water and wash her off. Having a lab is like having a dirty boy, even though she is a girl dog.

Pet Nicknames

If you are anything like my family you have at least three or four names for your animal other than their given name. Well Nala has a few herself.....

Pumpkin Pumpkin Pie
I have no idea how I started calling Nala by these names. I think she has gotten used to them now. Kyle makes fun of me and calls her by those names just to show me how dumb they are. What names do you call your pets? Mom, I know you can name at least three for little girl.
