Happy Birthday Dad!

My parents came up on Saturday to visit and celebrate my Dad's 59th birthday.  We went for a walk around Lake Raleigh on NC State's Centennial Campus.  My Dad was like a little kid picking up rocks and logs looking for bugs.  Of course Nala was happy because she got to run, swim, and roll in something smelly!  We had to get her back in the lake to wash it off and give her two baths when we got home to get the stink out.  Why do dogs love to smell?

For lunch we made burritos at home and got Rita's Italian Ice for dessert.  Kyle and my Dad went to the NC State vs. Clemson basketball game and Mom and I went shopping.  For dinner we met Kyle's parents at Red Robin.  It was a great day and hopefully a good birthday for my Dad.

That night Kyle and I watched Saw 4.  It was horrible.  I wish I could get back those 2 hours of my life.....don't watch it.

Happy Birthday Nala

Today was Nala's first birthday!  I got off work at 3:00pm, took a few pictures, and then went for a walk around Lake Johnson with Nala.  It was a beautiful day here, we hit a record high of 74 degrees!  We got Nala two bones and a jolly ball.  My sister got her a Life is Good frisbee. Here are the pictures that I took today.  She was very tolerant of the birthday hat!

Nala and Riley

Last weekend Kyle and I watched a friends dog.  Riley is a cockapoo, which is a cocker spaniel and poodle mix.  He is just a little guy and only weighs about 25 pounds.  Nala was so good with him. She is funny because she really wants other dogs to play with her toys so she would chase him with her dogs shoving them in his face.  He would run so she would just go to her toy box and try another one.  At least she likes to share :)

Cards

February is a big month for birthday's in my family!  Kyle's was at the end of January, Nancy's is Feb 3rd, Nala's is Feb 5th, Lisa's is Feb 9th, my Dad's is Feb 12th, and Valentine's Day is on the 14th.  A few weeks ago I got busy scrapbooking cards, so I didn't wait until last minute.  I mailed all of my valentine's and birthday cards today!
