Weekend Stuff

Kyle and I headed to Wilmington for the weekend again.  We had fun despite that fact that it rained, we took my mom to the doctor, found out my mom has shingles, and the pool water was only 75 degrees.
What is a blog post without pictures of Nala?  So here is Nala fetching and relaxing in the ocean at Fort Fisher.

On Sunday we got home and didn't feel like cooking so Kyle ordered a large pizza from Ruckus.  We drove my car to get the pizza and he walked out of the restaurant with this box.  A 24 inch pizza!  It almost didn't fit in my car it was so big.

Pool Party

On fathers day we went to Kyle's parents house for a cookout and a little pool time for the dogs. We went over at 2:00pm when it was around 94 degrees so the dogs loved the water. Kelli, Kyle's sister, brought her chocolate lab Winston over. Winston (aka winnie) is 6 years old and Nala loves him. Kyle cooked a great meal and we were able to spend the day with his family. We invited my parents to come up, but my dad was at a business meeting in New York.

Nala and Winston in the pool.

Winston trying to lay in the pool. He never quite figured out how to get his butt in.

Nala taking control of the water, as usual.

Nala patiently waiting for the soccer ball to be thrown so she can play catch.

Whistle While you Work

I was trying to decide what to post this morning that was different. Well here it is....this is where I spend most of my time. AT WORK. For those of you who don't know I am the Assistant Director for Club Sports with the Campus Recreation Department at NC State University. I've been at NC State for almost ten years. I started in 1999-2000 as a freshman, graduated in May of 2003, went back to school for my graduate degree in August of 2004, and graduated in December of 2006. Now I spend most of my days here working, but I still get to play. My job is great! I am responsible for 45 club teams; everything from Aikido (a martial art) to Water Polo. I work with students all day long providing them leadership skills that will help them find a job when they graduate. So here are some pictures of where I work.

This is the entrance to my office in Carmichael Gym.

Front of the main office.

Conference room where we eat if we don't feel like leaving.

My office! I know there are a ton of notebooks, but each club has one. And yes there are pictures of Nala everywhere.

Really Behind

I have tons of scrapbooking to catch up on. Between Nala, Hawaii, Bermuda, and summer pictures I am really far behind. Hopefully I will be able to do two or three pages of Hawaii this weekend. Here are two cards that I made last weekend. Nothing special, just something fun to send.

Welcome Home Sis

Me and my Dad and the Progress Energy picnic

We went to Wilmington for the weekend to welcome my sister home for the summer.  North Carolina gave her a nice warm welcome :)  with 100 degree heat.  We tried to spend most of the time in the water or in the shade to keep cool.  We also learned that after three days of constant swimming Nala would rather just relax on the float with everyone in the water.  She kept jumping in or climbing on the raft.  Lisa will be in Wilmington until the end of July so we'll be headed to Wilmington a bunch over the summer.

Nala on Vacation

My mom and dad agreed to watch Nala while we were in Bermuda.  I am not sure if they knew what they were really getting themselves into.  She absolutely loves water and it is hard to keep her out of lakes, pools, mud, and even small puddles.  Well, my parents have a pool and as you can guess she was in the pool the entire time.  As soon as we got in the car to come home she fell asleep and slept as much as she could for the next two days.  Thanks mom and dad.
